Deal of the Day for Zen Cart (DODzc) is a addon for ZenCart which allow you as owner of a website based on ZenCart to push a specific product on the first page of your shop as a “24 hours offer”. It is a marketing tool.
Deal of the Day Feature:
- The module take one product from “specials” and display for 24 hours as Deal of the Day. 24 hours is default time, can be value. The administrator setup the end of the deal; date and time
- After 24 hours the counter is reset and 24 hours are added or a new new product is taken randomly from “Specials” and 24 hours deal time is setup. It is automated job.
- If the quantity is 0(zero) then a new product is taken from specials and the counter is restarted (24 hours)
- The “Deal Of the day” section (eCommerce website – front end) will contain a box where are displayed:
- image of the product taken from database (link to the details product page)
- short description (truncated at 250 words and read more – link to the details product page)
- old price & new cut price taken from database
- the countdown (to the moment when this offer will expire)
- quantity left (if it is setup to be displayed, it is taken from the database)
- BUY NOW button (link to the details product page)
- Custom text displayed on top line (set up from admin area)
- FaceBook like button. Full url (link to your product page, image and short product description will be sent to the FaceBook “wall” of the user who liked the product.
- If product stock is not considered (you have set up into ZenCart to sell over stock) then the remaining stock can be displayed or not based on how you setup it in back end (admin).
- Admin can make the module to have specific automated behavior when the counter is ZERO or when the availability of deal expired:
- take randomly a new product from specials and setup 24 hours for countdown
- reset the counter (24 hours) and keep the product
